JDRF joins the Philly Marathon for the second year running!
Team JDRF Participants Austin O'Neil and Bonnie O'Neil.
The Philadelphia Marathon is among the top 10 courses in the country, recognized for its not-too-difficult terrain, mellow weather and great atmosphere! Join Team JDRF as we run the ultimate sweep through American history - from revoluntionary times to vibrant present day. From Betsy Ross' house and the Liberty Bell, through gorgeous 19th century Fairmount Park, to the hip districts of University City and Manayunk, the engrossing and beautiful landmarks along the way add a unique flavor to the experience. Spectators line the course, eager to cheer on runners - because there's nothing Philly loves more than a champion.
Why just run a marathon when you can run and be part of the cure? Living with type 1 diabetes is like running a marathon - the dietary restrictions and multiple daily blood tests and injections of insulin seem endless. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is getting closer to the finish line: a cure to this devastating disease. With your help we can continue the research that will lead to better treatments, and eventually a cure for type 1 diabetes. Join JDRF in your training and together we will cross not only the Philadelphia Marathon finish line, but also the finish line to a cure!
Team JDRF benefits:

The JDRF Eastern PA/Delaware Chapter is an offical partner of the Philadelphia Marathon. We are able to offer the first 25 runners who register on this site a guaranteed spot in one of the three events of the Philadelphia Marathon: the Rothman 8K, half marathon or full marathon.
Team JDRF has limited spaces available for this event and has set a $500 fundraising goal for each registered participant. To help us achieve our Team fundraising goal of $15,000, participants should have $250 raised by September 1, 2011 to fully guarantee their spot in the event.
Participants may choose from three training programs: in-person coaching program, virtual training program, or the no training needed option. All registration fees will go directly towards a particpant's fundraising goal - a registration fee is your first donation!
